When Schenley shared Gregory’s “Freedom Ride” picture on Facebook, it was more than just a happy snap. She wrote, “The BEST Freedom Ride Picture EVER! Pulled from the Euthanasia List at FCDS today by HOUND Rescue and Sanctuary, ‘Gregory’ is one thankful and appreciative Beagle! He KNOWS he is SAFE!” And you can see it in his eyes – Gregory knew he was off to a better life.
The Kirks didn’t just stop at rescuing Gregory; they made sure he got the care he needed. Off to the vet he went, where he began treatment for heartworm disease. But this tough little Beagle wasn’t just fighting for his health; he was fighting for a chance at a forever home.
And guess what? It didn’t take long for Gregory to charm his way into a new family’s heart. Soon after being listed for adoption, a family, already owning a beagle, knew Gregory was the missing piece in their lives. They came, they saw, they fell in love, and just like that, Gregory was off to his forever home.
